Heather MacRae

Heather MacRae has a passion for combining science and media to inspire children’s interest in science. Heather works with the Ideas Foundation and Venture Thinking to deliver projects.   She is an Honorary Fellow of Queen Mary University of London.

Heather has project managed a number of high profile outreach projects for the UK Space Agency.  These have included Richard in Space, Media Space, Mission X – Train Like an Astronaut and the Space to Earth Challenge, part of the hugely successful Principia Educational Project which accompanied the flight of ESA/UK astronaut Tim Peake on the International Space Station.   As a Managing Director of the Ideas Foundation she has has worked tirelessly to engage young people in the creative industries, most recently developing a major educational project with the Burberry Foundation.

Heather has won the Arthur C. Clarke Award for space education outreach twice and has also been given the Royal Aeronautical Society Silver Award and the National Career Award  for her work in education.
