Sarah Bridgland

Sarah is an artist who lives and works in Wales. She and Emma Wride (AstroCymru) have been running workshops at several primary schools in Wales.

She has worked in a variety of different learning environments, from early years workshops through to family programmes and adult learning. She is a workshop leader for the schools and families programmes at the V&A, and has also led workshops for charities such as the Campaign for Drawing and Vital Arts.

Sarah works predominantly with cut paper, exploring two and three-dimensional collage. She combines cut-outs from old printed ephemera and books with drawn and painted imagery to create intimately scaled paper sculptures and abstract compositions.

Sarah was born and grew up in Cambridgeshire. She studied at the Royal College of Art, London and on graduation was selected for Bloomberg New Contemporaries 2006. She has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions, including The First Cut, Manchester Art Gallery (2012), Kaleidoscope, Patrick Heide Contemporary Art, London (2015) and Art on Paper, Nancy Hoffman Gallery, New York (2016) Her work is in the collections of the Philbrook Museum of Art, USA, the London Clinic and Sir Terence Conran.
