This activity introduces children to the Sun and light. Cyanotype prints are made by the children from natural objects (leaves, feathers, buttons, springs etc). A cyanotype is a photographic process that produces a cyan-blue print. Chemicals in the paper react with ultraviolet light (such as from sunlight). These prints can be incorporated into collage art work. It is suitable for ages 8-10 years old. This activity can also be used for nature studies.
